Gafrotech Hub Is Turning Ogun State’s Skills Gap Into a Building Opportunity

Most tech hubs in Nigeria start with a vision and work backward toward credibility. Gafrotech Hub started with credibility and is now building the vision.

Gafrotech Computers and Electronics has been operating in Ogun State since 2010, providing computer sales, repairs, maintenance, and ICT support to individuals, businesses, and institutions in the state. That foundation of technical expertise, customer relationships, and community trust is what Gafrotech Hub is now being built on top of.

The problem the hub is addressing is one that shows up across Ogun State and the broader Nigerian digital economy. Young people are leaving school without practical, industry-ready technology skills. Schools are running inadequate ICT facilities. Small and medium businesses are struggling to find reliable, affordable computer maintenance, networking, and software development support. The gap between what the education system produces and what the industry actually needs remains wide, particularly outside Lagos.

Gafrotech Hub’s answer is an integrated technology center where learning, innovation, and professional services exist under one roof. Training programmes cover computer hardware engineering, networking, software development, cybersecurity, digital productivity, and emerging technologies. Alongside training, the hub provides professional hardware diagnostics, computer repairs, network design, server deployment, CCTV installations, and managed IT services for businesses and organizations. Software and web application development round out the service offering.

The facility operates from a 50-square-meter space structured around a hardware diagnostics and repair bench, a software development and managed networks lab, and a modular training classroom. Given the reality of power supply in Nigeria, the facility is designed around a dedicated solar hybrid power system to keep workstations, diagnostic equipment, and digital learning running with high availability.

The hub is also entering the startup support space. Gafrotech Hub is being incubated and accelerated under both N.E.Y.I Techpreneurship Hub and Vant, two of Ogun State’s most active ecosystem players, giving it access to mentorship, networks, and infrastructure that most early-stage hubs have to build from scratch.

Over the next five years, the team behind Gafrotech Hub is targeting training for thousands of young people in high-demand digital skills, enterprise-grade ICT support for organizations across Nigeria, and a recognized center of excellence in hardware engineering, networking, software development, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
