GEM Educational Foundation Is Preparing Ogun State Secondary School Graduates for What Comes After School

Finishing secondary school feels like a milestone. What comes after it is where most young Nigerians find themselves unprepared.

GEM Educational Foundation is addressing that gap directly with Students Conference 3.0, themed “Future Ready.” The free one-day conference holds on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10AM at Dayspring Chapel, opposite Conoil Obantoko, Ogun State. It is designed specifically for secondary school graduates who are at the early stages of figuring out what their next steps look like.

The conference is built around practical guidance rather than general motivation. Three speakers are leading the conversations: Funmilayo Akinola, Educator, Teens Coach and Counselor, and Founder of GEM Educational Foundation; Seun Hamzat, Program Operations and Delivery Lead at 3MTT; and Engr. Abiola Owosibo, Lecturer, STEM Advocate, and Coach. The lineup brings together education, youth development, and technical expertise in a room designed for young people who are trying to make real decisions about their futures.

The event is supported by The Global Leadership Summit NextGen and DreamCode, giving it institutional backing that signals the kind of serious investment in youth development the conference is designed to reflect.

GEM Educational Foundation’s premise is straightforward. Thousands of young people leave secondary school every year with expectations shaped by the idea that getting admission is the goal. Students Conference 3.0 exists to change that, at least for the graduates in Ogun State who show up on August 1st.
