How IGA Is Equipping Young People With Skills for Long Term Success

As conversations around youth unemployment, digital skills, and personal development continue to grow, one challenge remains consistent. Many young people are navigating a culture that rewards quick results while offering limited opportunities to develop the skills and values needed for long term success.
IGA was established to address that challenge through a holistic approach to youth development. Founded in 2023, the academy focuses on equipping young people in four key areas: technology, business and entrepreneurship, career and personal development, and life skills.
According to the organisation, its mission goes beyond technical training. It aims to help participants become responsible individuals, problem solvers, and community builders who are prepared for meaningful careers and global opportunities.
The founder says the vision is the result of more than a decade of mentoring and educating young people through workshops, summits, and mentorship programmes. While IGA was launched in 2023, the years that followed were spent refining the model and building momentum ahead of a broader rollout in 2026.
The academy reports that it has trained more than 100 young people so far and generated ₦70,000 in revenue from two workshops held in April. It also says around 70 percent of participants reported improved confidence after completing its programmes.
Looking ahead, IGA plans to establish youth development centres across Nigeria to expand access to its training model. As demand for practical education and workforce readiness continues to increase, initiatives like IGA reflect a growing effort to prepare young people with skills that extend beyond the classroom and into everyday life.
