Jekacode Africa Named Official Code Club Partner of the Raspberry Pi Foundation

Jekacode Africa has added a global partnership to its growing list of credentials. The Ogun State based tech academy and innovation hub has been named an Official Code Club Partner by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, the UK-based computing education charity behind one of the world’s largest networks of free coding clubs for young people.

The partnership connects Jekacode Africa to a global movement focused on giving school-age young people access to free, inclusive, and practical coding education. As an Official Code Club Partner, the hub gains access to the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s curriculum, training materials, and support network, and commits to establishing and growing Code Clubs in its communities.

Code Clubs are extracurricular programming clubs designed for young people aged 7 to 17. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics including introduction to coding, web development, game development, algorithms, robotics, electronics, and project-based learning. The clubs are free to attend, removing the cost barrier that keeps many young Nigerians from accessing quality digital education early.

For Jekacode Africa, the partnership is a natural next step. The hub has been training developers, designers, data analysts, and tech professionals from its base in Ogun State, and the Code Club partnership extends that work downward to younger age groups and outward into communities that structured tech education has not yet reached consistently.

The announcement reflects a broader shift in how serious ecosystem builders in Ogun State are thinking about the pipeline. Training young adults is one layer of the work. Building the foundation earlier, reaching children and teenagers before they have already decided whether tech is for them, is the layer that determines what the next generation of builders looks like.

For Ogun State’s ecosystem, a hub based in the state holding an official partnership with one of the world’s most respected computing education organisations is a marker worth noting. The future Jekacode Africa is helping to build is not abstract. It starts in a Code Club, with a young person writing their first line of code.
